Queen Victoria gig
Effectiveness of different aspects of our marketing campaign
Effectiveness of social media
The social media part of our marketing campaign was very successful. The reason that i think it was very successful is that the whole of our target audience was collage students and the younger generations. We have learned that when marketing and promoting a shoe the younger generations react very well to online promotion. The most effective part of our online marketing was how we invited people to in a group if they are coming to the gig. On Facebook this is called making a event page. I have uploaded a picture of our vent page, what it looked like on the day of the gig.
Effectiveness of our posters and the placement of the posters
I think that in the grand scheme of our marketing campaign the posters did not play such a huge roll in getting people to come down. I tink that the posters that we put up around town did not make such a big difference to the people who turned up to the gig. On the outer hand, the posters that we put up in and around Henley collage were very effective. The posters were very effective working alongside our online marketing. he reason for this is that we invited a lot of people to the gig on Facebook so that would be aware that it was going on and then when they saw the poster that we put up around collage that sad very clearly who was playing and what time it started and that it was free, they werre encouraged to come down to the gig.
Effectiveness of the acts we booked
I think that we chose a very effective line up of music for the night because we chose acts and bands that were well known around Henley collage and since the Henley collage students were our target audience, this was very effective. We had acts who had a large following of Henley collage students so when linking this back to the poster where we made the acts the main feature that stood out we we defiantly did a good job in this part of the marketing process seeing as the Henley collage students where our target audience.
Efeectivness of the venue
The venue that we chose was great. It was in a perfect location and it is a very well known pub in Henley so when every one saw the poster they instantly knew where it was. The pub was the perfect size for the gig and we promoted it the perfect amount to fill it without it being too full.
What improvements could we have made to the marketing campaign?
If we could do it again what would we do differently and why?
Although the marketing campaign was a big success and we did achieve what we set out to achieve there are still things and aeries that we could have improved on in the marketing campaign for the gig. One of the things that really stands out to me, that I would defiantly do differently if I had the chance to do this again is the organisation and h time keeping to the marketing campaign. As a group there is no escaping that we left a lot of things in the marketing campaign to the last minute and we could have made our lives a lot easier if we stuck to our scheduled and met our deadlines instead of letting all of the different factors and sections of the marketing campaign pile up and have to d it all until the last few weeks.
Another thing that I think as a group we would agree we should have done differently posters. We could have made the posters more affective and made them appeal to the audiences in the Henley town as well as the audiences at collage because they were quite simplistic and they could have been more advance and eye catching.

how effective was our marketing campaign over all? - summery
Over all I think that our marketing campaign for the gig in the Queen Victoria in Henley was very effective. I think that we did a great job establishing who our target audience was and getting them to come to the gig through a range of different marketing methods that were all very effective in different ways.
We did defiantly have a successful marketing campaign because we had a lot of people who came to the gig. We defiantly attracted the crowd that we set out to attract so over all it was a huge success.
The gig itself was also very successful. We were told by the landlord that we were very slick and professional and that he would defiantly have us come and play again in his pub. So that shows that as well as having a successful marketing campaign we also had a successful show of music.

Action Plan
1
- Start the marketing champaign earlier
- I would do this so that we would not be as rushed in the proses of marketing for the gig. This would mean that we have more time to plan and make sure everything is done as good as it can be.
2
- I could make more use of different social networking sites than Facebook, and do it earlier to that people have more time to respond
- I think that using twitter and instagram would be very effective because a lot of the young people these days!
3
- I would collect email adresses
- The reason that I would do this is that then I would have email adress to contact in the future if there is another gig. I would also have contacts o ask for feedback so that I could improve the gigs in the future.
4
- I would do a mailshot
- I would do this so that I know where to improve on for next time.

GC5 (LO4): Although you haven’t showed a great deal of evaluation about the Queen Vic gig, you did demonstrate some evaluation of the effectiveness on the GC4 page of your blog when referring to the Walingford gig that you promoted, as such this is a pass. To get higher grades you need to discuss the effectiveness and any improvements you’d make to the Queen Vic gig’s marketing – I.e a bit more detail.
