Be able to capture audio sources using multitrack recording techniques
For the process of capturing our audio recording on a multitrack recording device has been done done in the Henley collage studio. In the studio there is cubase 6 and cubase 6 is a very good piece of software to record with. There are also very wide varieties of microphones we can use. There are condensers and large diaphragm condenser and dynamic microphones too. There is a Allan and heath desk in the studios. These desk are very good and very expensive. They have 24 canals so there is a lot of things you can do with it.

Be able to capture audio sources using multitrack recording techniques
Audio sources:
drum kit
Capturing the audio of drums can be done in a few different ways. The way that I decided to do It is by recording each individual drum on a separate track. I started with the bass drum. I got my friend Cam to record it for me. The mic we were using for the bass drum was the sure bass drum mic that is in collage. we then recorded the snare drum. To record the snare drum we used two SM-57 microphones. One in the position below the snare drum and one in the position above. we then recorded the cymbals. using a large diaphragm microphone to pick up the ambiance on the room.
guitar
when we recorded the acoustic guitar we used two cs1000 mics one on the bridge and one at 12 threat. We spent a long time making sure we have a sound from the microphones that we like. We also used a large diaphragm microphone at the same time to help us get a more full sound.
bass
When we recorded the bass we di it. WE did this because it is very easy and you can get a very good sound from it.
piano
We did not record piano in this track but if we did then we would use the piano mics in collage and large diaphragm condenser.
woodwind and brass instruments orchestral instruments, single and multiple voices
Technical issues:
talkback
fold back
click track
The click track was easy enough. We just had to get the right tempo as set the click
managing takes
data storage/archiving, track laying,
overdubbing
In pretty cracs the way that I did overdubbing is
Organisational issues:
tuning instruments
The tuning in this song did cause really big problems because it was in suth a strange tuning. The tuneing that use for this dong is the dadgad tuning down one whole tone. That makes the tuning cgcfgc. I did find that I have to buy some very good heavy sting to make this tuneing sound nice because it sounded really bad and flappy sounding before.
working with musicians
Working with musicians can be a problem sometimes when people don't understand what is being asked of them and when people cant perform it can get frustrating in the recording proses I was lucky enough to not have to worry about that because I have lot some great musicians who have offered to help me record. Jasper and Cameron and will are my musicians who all helped a lot in the playing of the music in the recording.
communication
We managed to sort out the communication between the musciands very well because all of us were dedicated to make it to the recording session on time.
organisation
We were a bit unorganised with planning the sessions but we were lucky that most of the time there wasn't loads of people always trying to get into the studio so we had a good amount of time to get things done.
timekeeping, keeping records, preparation, clearing up
We made sure that we kept our time so that we could get every thing done and leave enough time at the end of the session to clean up too.

The link just above this sentance is the link to the vocals track. You can hear hat there has been some reverb aplyd and ou can see that ther is still work to be done on them to meke them smooth to the ear and ice to hear.

The link above is a link that takes you to one of the early mixes that i have done i the early prosess of th recording. As you can hear, there are no drums and little percusion. The song sounds a lot more full in the final version
