One of the extra reproducibility's that I took on as sorting out the pa - this was essential to the susses of the gig
To begin with, for the show we were going to use my PA. However i cam across a problem in this. I discovered the problem about two weeks before the show. The problem was that one of the tweeters in my Pa speakers had blown so we were not going to be able to use it. The way that i solved this was by sorting another PA. I went and spoke to one of my friends called Cameron and asked him if he would lend us the PA for the gig. He also offered to come and do the sound for the gig. That was very helpful because without a sound man and a PA the gig would not have happened.
Calling Nick from the Queen Vick was a extra responsibility that i took on
Another extra responsibility that i took on was the responsibility of calling Nick (the land lord from the queen vick) about the date and time of the gig. By calling nick we learned a lot of important information about how the gig as going to work. Things like when were we going to load in and when were we going to load out and outer important things that would have caused big problems had we not known them.
I get his number by going into the pub and asking the woman behind the bad. Without this there could have been some big organizational problems.

My preparation and routine as a individual performer
What were the things that I had to do to prepare my performance?
Repertoire selection (or composition if appropriate)
When selecting my song I decided it was very important to have songs that would appeal the the loser generations and songs that would appeal to the younger generations. AS you can see in my song selection below I have incorporated all of those. As well as putting in some original songs to keep it interesting.
Sunny afternoon - Kinks
Love will tare us apart - Joy division
Hide away - Me
Stay here - Me

Learning the songs:
The first song in my performance that i had to learn is one that i have never played before. The name of the song is Sunny Afternoon by The Kinks. I has a bit of trouble finding good tab for this song so the way that I had to Lear it in the end was through a YouTube lesson. I have put the video that I used to learn it below.

The next song that I played in my set was a song that I wrote myself called stay here. This was nice because it meant that I did not have to learn any lyrics! And I did not have to go to the trouble of printing them. This song was already well practised too so it made my life easier. The same goes for my fourth song in the set. I wrote that one too witch means that I had no trouble learning it.
The next song in my set and the final song was called, love will tare us apart by joy division. I had to learn this one much like the first song in the set from a Youtube lesson but that was easy enough. I have put in a link to the video that I learn the song from again below this sentence.

Practise / attending meetings and rehearsals
I am in the nice position of performing on my own witch means I can practice where I want and when I want. This is great because it requires minimal organisation. I practices my set roughly 4 or 5 times a week in the build up to the gig for 4 weeks.
Once I learned all of the songs in my set and felt comfortable playing them in front of people what outer things did I do to prepare myself and my kit?
New strings!
One of the mane things that I always do 3 days before a gig is change the strings on my guitar. This is often overlooked by guitarist but I believe it is very important and dose help the performance a lot. The reason for this is new strings sound a lot more bright and have much nicer tone to them than old already used strings. If the string are only a week or two old then I will not bother sometimes because strings are costly. This time however I did change the strings. The reason that i did it three days before is because for the first one or two days the strings need to stretch and set because they go out of tune very fast but after 3 days they are always perfect.

Printing the lyrics in cause I forget the words on the day
I find that printing the lyrics is a very sensible idea and I do it at most gigs. Even if I know the words very well. The reason that i do this is because it makes me more confident when I perform and confidence is very important. When there is lots of people watching you perform it is very easy to make mistakes and it is very easy to forget the words. That is the reason that I for this for gigs. There is an example of what my lyric sheet would look like below.

Things that I do on the day to prepare before a performance
Warming up on the guitar
The way that I often warm up on the guitar before a performance is by playing a song or two just to get my hands used to it and build my confidence. Even though I know I can do the performance without playing them through there is a good scene of confidence when you play and get comfortable and that again means you can go on stage without worrying.
More importantly... Vocal warm ups
It is very important to warm up you vocal chords before you perform because your vocal chords are muscles and they can be pulled like any outer muscle. You would not go on a long run without stretching you muscles to warm up. The same should always go for singing. That is why warming up my vocal chords is a huge part of me pre gig preparation.
What techniques do I use to warm up my voice?
I use a lot of different techniques. Things like lip trills and rolling your Rs. They help to vibrate the trough t and loosen up the muscles making singing a lot more natural. I do scales and arpeggio starting at the bottom of my range and building up to the top of my range and then back down again. I always keep my thought hydrated too to make sure that i don't have a dry mouth. I do this by drinking water.

The role that I had within the group was finding a venue.
I understand this roll very well already because I have been involved heavily in promoting gigs i the past witch a company I am a part of called INDIGO PROMOTIONS.
