In this unit I have one month till the deadline. I have almost the whole of June to complete it and get it all handed in. So I have to keep to my time scheduled of getting the research done within this week so that I have some time to work on presenting the final piece in lo4. I am going to get my interviews with songwriters done next week.
MY TIMELINES FOR RESEARCH FOR THIS UNIT
My Online research and my research from books - June 1st to June 15th
My interviews with songwriter/questions - June 15th to June 30th
My interviews with songwriter/questions - June 15th to June 30th
What forms of research am i going to use?
The forms of research that i am going to use are both primary and secondary.
For my primary evidence i am going to get in touch with people who right songs and i am going to ask them how they do it and why they do it and find out what methods they find most effective for writing songs.
For my secondary evidence I am going to do research on the internet and i am going to look in some books for, effective ways to write songs.

In this section one of the things that I have been doing is searching for appropriate sources and material to investigate song writing. I have been looking for a range of information forums to use.
To start my search for the sources of information and a range of forms I Google searched the words - How to right a song. I was lucky that not far down from the top I say a webpage with the title How to write a song in ten steps. This was a part of the website called - My song coach. I have copied the link form the website so that you can put it in the search bar and look for yourself if you so please.

http://www.songwriterforum.co.uk/
The songwriters forum is full of songwriters posting ideas and giving each outer tips and advice on how to Finnish there songs. There is a live chat on this site and lots of other useful things.

The best website that i found was another column. On this website people post about everything musical. Its called ultimateguitar.com. I have found a section on the website where people have posted how they write songs. The great thing about this is that is a source for almost every single genre. There is such a wide range of information at my disposal. The one that I have put below is a very useful column I found on writing rock songs.

I decided it would be a good idea to research songwriting from a world class songwriter
In the video below Emeli Sandé talks about how she began song writing. She began at the age of 7! She used to study the structures of song that were written by Whitney Huston. When she began so song write professionally she says that she was looking for a formula that would help her write a hit song but over time she learned that there is not real formula and the songs that people connect with and take a liking to are the songs that have meanings behind them and the songs that are emotional. She says that there is no science behind songwriting.
She says that see draws her inspiration from literally everything. From Life, Art, People and of cores other musicians. Anything and everything can be a inspiration for a song. She says its all about having the bravery to come out and say this is how i'm feeling right now in a song.
She then talks about how some of her song she wrote very quickly and some of them took a long time. Its all about writing what you are feeling at the time and not rushing it so that it is more natural.

I have decided to organise some interviews with songwriters
I know a few people who are songwriters in the free time. I have decided that that would be anther great source, The fist songwriter that sprung to mind when thinking about who to interview was a guy i know called James Handcock. He is a very talented songwriter and is currently studying song writing in Brighton.
