Analysis of Adverts
Analysis of the Live With Fire Rebook Advert ect...
The song in the Reebok live with fire advert is ‘Sleeping Land Pt. 1’ by ‘The Rustle of the Stars’. The first scene of the advert is a woman tying her shoe laces, shortly followed by a woman walking into a gym and then two men doing exercise. These first three scenes all take place within the first four seconds of the advert. The music in the first four seconds is setting a tone for the advert. There are synthesized violins that sound as though they are warming up/tuning, this creates the idea of warming up before exercise. This creates suspense for the advert because you know that there will be more to come. The music is in the background, they emphasise this by having a group of friends talking. You cannot hear what they are saying exactly but you can feel the tension building.
At around 10 seconds the advert begins to show people doing yoga and gymnastics and pushing there body’s to the limits. At that point the music is still creating suspense with the synthesisers and the string sounds. Then there is a man with a low monotone voice talking in an ethereal manner intruding on the action in the advert and the anticipation in the music. The man says: ‘Life doesn’t care what you look
like, or where you come from, it’s not here to judge you, it doesn’t care how tough you are, it knows you’re not always pretty, easy or perfect, life simply asks that you join in.’
Whilst the man is talking there is a variety of different scenes that show people pushing themselves in the gym, lifting weights, running races, dancing and putting their heart into what they are doing. At around 35 seconds the music in the advert changes from the stings and violin synthesizers sound which was creating lots of suspense to a more driven feel with a bassy drum keeping the rhythm and making the song more powerful. You also begin to notice a piano which has been there but just very subtle. The melodies that are being played on the piano are very
high. They begin very simplistic and they progress into more virtuosic and interesting melodies that help to give the peace the change from the suspense section to the driven section. Meanwhile whilst the music is building up and getting more intense so are the scenes on the screen. They go from gentle exercise like warming up and stretching to much more strenuous exercise where you can clearly see the athletes being passionate and pushing themselves to the limits. This correlates to the music.
Towards the ending of the avert when the screen goes black you can see scenes where the runners are embracing life and hugging and showing that they are happy to be doing exercise and that they share a feeling that they’ve accomplished something. The music dies out and then it says ‘Live With Fire’ then ‘Reebok’. The advert ends there.

Video 1 - PG Tips Tea
Sound In The Add - Ambient sounds
In the PG Tips add there is a little bit of ambient sound as the advert starts and our hear them talk about how good the tea is. There are than a lot of strange sounds that got added into the advert to make it funny. There are some funny stereotypical cartoon sounds the kind of sound you would get in a cartoon like Ben and Jerry.
Music in the add
I think that the music in this advert is very affective and helps to make the advert easy watch and makes you laugh and smile. What I think is so great about the music in this advert is that the music has been written along with the images of the other way round when the images could have been put together over a already composed piece of music so that tall of the funny things in the songs like the slides n the trombone or the squeaks on the trumpets are fitted perfectly and help to bring out the best of the images.
The music in this advert helps to give the advert some funny song and dancey vibes with puts the person watching in a good mood.

analysis of freedom advert
This advert is only a shot advert. One of the reasons that there are a lot of short adverts on the TV is because adverts are very expensive to air on the tv and it will cost you a lot of money to get a long and very on and a bit les for a short advert. On this particular advert the voiceover is very much made into the mane thing and the mane thing for the watcher to concentrate on and understand and then go of and buy the product hopefully. The voice over is the part that sells the product o the viewer. In the background there is some music you can hear a band kind of thing going on but with no lyrics or singing. The song has guitar and drums and bass.
It is also a important thing to notice the image that the people who are making the advert are trying to give. They are selling a pot product that is supposes to make you're spotty skin look nice. I cant help but notice that all of the people in the advert have very good skin and the dot look like they have every suffered from spots in there life. The advert is clearly trying to give of a good message about the product not only is the voiceover saying the product is great but all of the people in the advert look like the are very happy and they are smiling.
In the voice over the people in the advert they clearly thought about how they want to get there message across. They have decided that the best way to do it is t have lots of different people saying the voiceover so having a wide mixture of boys and girls.

analysis of Colgate toothpaste
This advert is a advert for Coalgate total toothpaste. This advert has got some ambient sounds and some sounds that have been edited in to make it look cool. Like the noise it made when it was supposedly scanning someone's mouth for bacteria. This advert has a woman who tells you a shot story of how she when the dentists and the dentist said she had pack on her teeth and the dentist suggested a new toothpaste and its absolutely amazing, I has changed my life ect.
The music is in the back ground in this advert Is very much in the background. You can tell that the music is not supposed to be anything special and its jut there. The music is a very quiet and simple song. You can hear a lot of piano and a lot of string sections. The over all feel of the music is a uplifting feel. With out the back ground music I feel that the advert would feel like nothing happens and that it leads nowhere and that there is no sense of depth. but then put it together with the ambient sounds the images and the talking then the advert dose flow very nicely and it dose do what its supposed to do with is make the toothpaste look like its worth buying it if you were to see it on a shelf in a shop.
I think that over all this advert has got some very goo musical elements and it also has same very good factices that will help the product to sell well.

Vo5 extreme style advert
The ambient sounds and the sound I the beginning of this advert are very affective and very interesting. there is the sound of an army truck driving in and that load roaring engine automatically attracts the watchers attention. As the advert continues there is a feel of discipline and order s the people march there are certain sounds that seem to jump out. One of those sounds is the sound of the man's hair being shaved and the sound of the razor cutting it of.
The music begins in this advert at a point very near to the begging it sounds like a samba drum kind of thing. There I a fast repetitive rhythm that has ascents on some of the beats to make them more in rhythm and more memorable. this drums kind of thing continus and build sup graduly thoughout the first 17 seconds then a interesting hich kind of almost sound like robotic singing. A very clever effect that I think sounds the feel of this adver and those drums very well. The music only really starts getting cool when the hair gel is taken out and shown to the camera and the music gets really cool at the end when the people have there hair styled. The advert then ends with the catch phrase witch is Vo5 extreme style, break the mould.

Dairylea advert
This advert is for dairy lee cheese. This products is mainly for kids and that is why the advert is vey childish. There are a lot of kids running round a school and trying to get there hands on the cheese. The advert is made childish and funny by using music that make's you laugh the lyrics are saying gimi that so it makes it seem like everyone wants the cheese. I think that the use of sounds that they have put in also draws the children attention and makes them watch the advert and makes them see how good the product is.
The catch phrase at the end is " kids will do anything for dairy lee", I think that that is very affective because in the images before that it shows kids going mad to get a bit of the really yummy dairy lee cheese.

advert for cobra beer -the boss advert
This advert is called the boss advert. you can clearly see in this advert when you watch it who is supposed to be the boss. The boss have had lots of little subtle things done in the images and in the sounds to make him look the he is the big cheese, like he is the man who is in charge. The whole advert is clearly amid at adults. You can tell this because of the language spoken in the voice over is a lot more sophisticated that in would otherwise be if it was in a children's advert. Not to mention that fact that you cannot buy this product if your not a adult. The music in this adverts is very up lifting and very smooth and cool. It is the kind of music that would be playing in a expensive restrain. that keeps up te whole adult theme too.
the message that the advert sends to the viewer is that this is a cool drink and that it was made by a cool dude who is the boss and he has a smooth voice and the beer is so cool that when you drink it makes you cool.

corse lite beer
This advert is very similar to the last advert I talked about. It is also selling a alcoholic product that only adults can buy so the advert is aimed at adults and not at children. The advert uses adult hummer and the kind of one that people would find mildly amusing. The thought of one being so clod that there nipples talk to them will bring a smile to most peoples face.
The ambit sounds in his advert is mainly one sound. It is the sounding of the wind on the mounting Topps. But apart from that it is just am funny man with a deep voice. A deep voice will capture your attention and make you really believe what the advert is telling you. This advert has a very strong message at the end of it. It tells you that corse light is the worlds most refreshing beer.

Whiskas First Ever Commercial for Cats
I think that the way that this advert has been done is very clever they have put in so many different sounds to give the advert a sense depth. The sounds that the use are sounds like cat meows and bird tweets and whistle sounds an the sound of a radio and the sound as a bell and a buzzing electronic device. The thing that makes this advert different than most is the fact that they have said that its for catts. Wen putting an advert on tv and saying it for cats that would surely rule out the vast majority of the humans that that advert apples to.
you do still know that the adverb is advertising a product because you can see the cat food at the end. The images on the advert give you the kind of message that they are teasing the cat with some kind of delicious cat food.
